David Katz
Executive in Charge of Production and Development

David Katz grew up on the back lots of Hollywood movie studios and distant locations around the world, the son of Producer, Marty Katz and Animator, Angelika Katz.
 
By age 16, David Katz started working as a Production Assistant for Walt Disney Studios Feature Production Department.  By age 18, Katz was accepted into the Directors Guild as an Assistant Director working on thirty feature and television projects before upgrading to UPM then Director.  Katz founded and produced the Malibu International Film Festival, now in its 10th year (scheduled August 2009).  Katz created DemoReels.com, the Demo Reel Database for the Entertainment Industry. 

2005 – 2008, Katz was head of production for Ambitious Films, a Santa Monica based Production Company. Under the Ambitious banner, Katz was charged with developing projects for all forms of media.  Katz helped develop and produce projects for Activision, Google, Range Rover, Paul Mitchell, Weed Free Life, Earth911.org, Virgin Records, Universal Music Group, Kirkland Records, Liquid 8 Records.  For more information on Ambitious Films go to www.ambitiousfilms.com
 
2009-2010, Katz wrote, produced and directed “Kissing Strangers”, a hip romantic comedy feature film starring Matt Smiley; Adrienne Rusk; Lucas Dick; David Jenkins; Andy Dick and Seymour Cassel.  The film is currently in post-production. The film will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation to help find a cure for Epilepsy.

2011, David Katz and Ambitious Films produced “The Dispensary”, a high concept reality show based around the medical marijuana world.

August 2010 - May 2011, Katz produced for Planet C Studios on projects for Universal Studios and other major clients.

May 2011, Katz is casting 'Malibu Housewives' a reality show based around Malibu Housewives.
